Unusual Victorian box £SOLD
An unusual Victorian silver box with gilt interior, the front mounted with a functionless ball within a toothed band. (Could it be an early attempt at a design for a zip?) It is also Hallmarked in an unusual manner: twice on the inside sides of the base, and there are no marks on the lid where it should have some! Initialled ABC on lid. By Minshull and Latimer, Birmingham 1886. 2.6 inches wide; 2 ounces
