A good early George II straight sided silver coffee pot, fully marked on base and with lion passant inside cover, by Humphrey Payne, London 1729. Engraved with a mid 18th century rococo coat of arms. 9 inches high; 24.25 ounces
The arms “sable 2 bars ermine in chief a lion’s head erased between 2 chaplets”, are likely to be for a cadet branch of the family of Earl Bathurst
