Welcome
As a result of the volatility in the price of silver, I have removed the prices on certain items, and marked them Price On Application (POA). Please email or ring, and I’ll be happy to tell you the current prices
At Henry Willis (antique silver) I deal in antique, domestic and collectible silver from the 16th to 21st century, with a particular interest in early and provincial items.
I opened the shop in Sherborne, Dorset in 1993, having previously been in the West End of London since the mid ‘seventies.
From 2000 until 2019 I was chairman of the silver vetting committee at the Antiques For Everyone fair at the NEC, Birmingham, and for many years was a member of the Antique Plate Committee at Goldsmiths’ Hall, London.
My stock comprises a large selection of carefully chosen pieces suitable for the collector, the investor, and gifts for Christmas, birthdays, graduation, weddings, anniversaries, retirement etc. I also stock a good selection of canteens and cutlery.
I have a strong following among collectors and dealers alike, and my business attracts buyers from across Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.
If you are thinking of selling silver, I am keen to buy entire collections or single items at current prices. I am particularly looking for 18th century candlesticks and coffee pots, early spoons (before 1700), snuff boxes and vinaigrettes, tankards, sugar casters, and 19th century novelty items in silver. The “Sold Archive” contains pieces already sold and illustrates the type of pieces I am always looking to buy.
This website shows a representative cross-section of my stock. If you are looking for something specific, please contact me, and I will try to find it for you.
